Charming atmosphere complemented by a spacious room with a cozy four-poster bed and a relaxing spa bath with lovely views of the surrounding hills. The breakfast was really good, with friendly staff enhancing the cute vibe. Despite some limited parking, my experience was good, especially the excellent meals like the pan-roasted beef tenderloin during dinner.

Easy to get to, fab and best possible location near the centre, and a gorgeous pub. Also, for a long hike.

The location was great and lovely, short walk to the cave, shops and other pubs and the restaurant which looked newly decorated and 4-6 minutes' walking distance from Castleton Museum we wanted to see. It was stocked, spotless and with good shower.

The character of the hotel is charming, with a warm welcome upon arrival. The spacious bathroom offered a great experience after a long day of exploring.
Some areas felt a bit dated, which impacted the overall experience.

Fantastic stay with excellent food
The breakfasts were especially good, with a wide variety of options to fuel our adventures. We appreciated the friendly and helpful staff who even arranged takeaways for our hikes. The room could use some soundproofing as we heard some noise from the hallway.

The rooms were cozy, and the food was fantastic. Breakfast really set us up for our days out, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. We even got takeaways for our hikes, what a nice touch! I'd definitely come back again for another adventure.
The only downside was the room near the door that kept slamming, which disturbed our sleep.

Characterful and Cute Atmosphere
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, especially the cozy atmosphere created by the log fire and the lovely touches in the room like biscuits and a small bottle of wine. The breakfast was freshly cooked with a variety of choices, and the staff were attentive and friendly, providing great service. The location is perfect for exploring the Peak District, but it would have been nice if the breakfast started a bit earlier to accommodate an early schedule.

The squid starter was lovely and refreshing. For a nice dinner, perhaps skip the pizza.

Chill vibes and good times
The bar area was cozy, but could use speedy service-had to wait too long for drinks. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice for chats. Can't wait to come back and try the food next time. Menu looked really good!
